Jim has been with the DEXIS team for a decade now. Whether at work with colleagues and customers or in his spare time as a musician and auto enthusiast, Jim always puts the people first. Learn more about how he began his work with Team DEXIS and what motivates him on a personal level.
How did you come to work for DEXIS?
I was working with automotive dealership groups and then during the IT boom, decided to switch my focus. When I went to the DEXIS interview, the sensor and the digital X-ray technology as a whole blew me awayit was very exciting, and I instantly knew I wanted to be a part of it. Ive been with the company for 10 years now. Its just incredible to see the kind of growth the company has experienced, not only in the market, but also within the Alpharetta facility.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
Being a part of special projects, like when Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf States and we provided systems and support them. It really meant something to me that our products were helping in the recovery efforts.
What is your on-the-job philosophy?
The bottom line is that none of us would be here if it wasnt for the people. Whether its our owners or our employees, its all about the people. How we treat both parties determines our success.
What are your hobbies?
I have two real passions in my life with cars and music. My Dad, a car fanatic, sparked my interest and taught me a lot about them growing up. European sports cars like MG, Triumph, and Fiat are what I'm interested in, and Ive rebuilt a few. The picture here is of my 1974 MG Midget that I hauled home in 18 boxes of parts in 2003 and put back together. This picture was taken in the North Carolina Mountains in 2008 heading to the car's first British car show.
With music, I've been very blessed to work with high caliber musicians, even as far back as high school. I've performed as a solo artist and with groups in Classic Rock, Country, and Alt Country genres and have been well accepted by audiences over the years. I've found myself playing with really talented professionals for over a decade. It always amazes me when I get together for the first time with these musicians and how well the musical experience turns out.
I've been part of some fantastic bands over the past few years. Two of them Vacant House and Dean Taylor & The Better Days have had air play of their songs in the Atlanta market. It really is a thrill to hear your voice, your instrument, and your name going over the airwaves in a market as big as Atlanta!
