A Single-Size X-ray Sensor That's Just Right

Posted by Team DEXIS

DEXIS Platinum X-ray Sensor.jpegFinding a sensor that pleases both the patient and the clinician used to be the stuff that fairy tales were made of. With all of the brands out there, some sensors were too big and some were too sharp, and no dental assistant should have to bear those kind of imaging issues. You don’t have to wander among the many brands, until you can’t see the forest for the trees. With the DEXIS™ Platinum sensor, clinicians can capture excellent images with a single-size sensor that fits “just right ” — whether the patient is father-sized, mother-sized, child-sized, or any size in between.

Yes, Relationships DO Affect Care

Hygienist_wSensor_and_Patient_FB.jpgIt’s no secret that doctor-patient relationships are very important in building and maintaining a successful practice. When patients trust their caregivers, they are more likely to follow instructions. In my 26 years of working with dentists and their practices, I have witnessed firsthand how building these relationships and educating patients has resulted in people seeking routine, timely care. That means that patients are not only interested in addressing problems, but also are scheduling regular checkups to keep their teeth healthy which in turn, allows the clinician more opportunity for early diagnosis of dental disease.

The Art and Science of Viewing Digital X-Ray Images

Posted by Team DEXIS

By Fred H. Peck, DDS

Digital X-rayCosmetic dentistry is both an art and a science. The art entails being able to see the patients’ vision for their teeth, whether recapturing the smile of their youth, or helping them to obtain the smile they never had. Of course, I achieve these goals through science, with imaging being one of my most important diagnostic tools for formulating a treatment plan. DEXIS gives me consistently excellent image quality, together with low radiation and comfortable sensors. While I feel that I have chosen a brand that produces the best radiographs, I have improved my capabilities for viewing those images even more with quality monitors and lighting.

Passionate About Dentistry and Technology

Posted by Team DEXIS

Content offered by Lisa Nulty, RDH, MS, Product Manager for DEXIS

Lisa NultyIn the early adventurous days of my career, I started out as a traveling hygienist — an amazing learning experience. By working with clinicians across the country, I was able to gain a variety of skill sets and learn from each dentist’s unique techniques. Throughout life, I have always tried to find solutions and fill specific needs for my chosen field. In dentistry, I saw a niche for hygienists who are flexible enough to fill in for the hygienist in dental practices — whether they were on maternity or sick leave or had a sudden emergency. Since hygienists are such an integral part of any practice, that sudden void can make productivity suffer.
